RACHEL SARGENT
Rachel started dancing at the age of 2 in her home town in North Wales. At sixteen she moved to London to study dance at Performers College, Essex before moving to Epsom a year later where she trained for three years at Laine Theatre Arts. During her time at Laine's she appeared in numerous professional shows and pantomimes. On graduating, Rachel appeared in the workshop production of the musical Raindogs in Trafalgar Studios London, where she played the part of Rusty and went on later that year to make her West End debut playing Shelly in the musical Hairspray, covering the part of Tracy. Following her year in Hairspray and up until earlier this year, Rachel was playing the role of Lisa in Mamma Mia at the Prince of Wales theatre, London. Although Rachel has spent a lot of time on stage performing, she has always had a love of teaching - from a young age she would assist her dance teacher with the younger classes and has taught many classes and workshops in schools and colleges, even in the Royal Academy and is delighted to be returning to Glass Dance for another year of summer school.
